Genus Melaenornis

Liberian Black-Flycatcher - The species is highly dependent on closed-canopy primary forest containing large emergent trees. Its population is likely to be declining rapidly, in line with the massive destruction of lowland forest in the region, and it is therefore classified as vulnerable.

Northern Black-Flycatcher - This is an insectivorous species which is a resident breeder in tropical Africa from Senegal to Ethiopia and south to Zaire and Tanzania.

Southern Black-Flycatcher - This species has a large range, with an estimated global extent of occurrence of 4,200,000 kmĀ². The global population size has not been quantified.
