Bare-tailed woolly opossums are found in the interior rainforest to about 55-degrees west longitude including parts of the Bolivian lowland rainforest.
Range and Population Woolly opossums are uncommon to locally common throughout their extensive range from southern Mexico (Veracruz) to northern Ecuador.
Woolly opossums are solitary animals and although they often congregate around common food sources there is no interaction between individuals.
