Papuan Hawk-Owl

Though generally found in lowland rainforest or gallery forest in lowland savanna, the Papuan Hawk Owl is occasionally found at elevations up to 1,500 metres above sea level. It is probably a resident species in its restricted range, New Guinea.

The Papuan Hawk-Owl is classified as Data Deficient (DD), inadequate information to make a direct, or indirect, assessment of its risk of extinction.
