confused with Short-billed Canastero, though the confusion is more likely to arise in the similarity of the names than the similarity of the birds! Sharp-billed does not cock the tail and is much the more likely canastero in eastern Paraguay during the austral winter, when it visits us from the Southern Cone of South America.
