The Black-throated Canary is pale buffy-grey above, with dark brown streaking. The throat has blackish spotting, which can be a distinctive blackish throat patch, or a throat patch which is just visible as a dirty smudge. The underparts are whitish, with faint grey-brown streaking. It has a pale yellow rump, which is paler yellow than the rump of the Yellow-fronted Canary. The tail is tipped white. This species is common in savannah woodland, bushveld , farmyards and riverine bush. More
