The Dusky Lark (Pinarocorys nigricans) is a species of lark in the Alaudidae family. It is found in Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. it was a Dusky Lark! The beak was short and stout, and the legs were shorter than that of the Groundscraper Thrush. The description from the Robert's Bird Guide further confirmed the identification. The bird is found more often in short, sparse grass in mixed woodland areas, even preferring to stay on gravel roads. This means that we could see this bird again in the area with more guests over the next few weeks. More
